The Story (Behind the

A STUDENT FILM GONE BIG
We made "Immortal Fist: Legend of Wing Chun" as a proof of concept for a pilot program we launched at our academy. This pilot program took a group of students to make a proof of concept for a new kind of Power Rangers, live action anime style program. Elle Beyer dug out a script she wrote in college for an assignment, and thought, "Hey this could be fun. The kids will like it." And so we made the film. It was 42 minutes. It turned out decent so we submitted it to The Action On Film Festival, where it was selected and even nominated for an award. We premiered "Immortal Fist: Legend of Wing Chun" at Brenden Theaters at the Palms Casino and Resort, in Las Vegas, Nevada (2017). The kids were ecstatic to see themselves on the big screen, to have the warmest red carpet experience, and to witness magic in the making. From there, it got 13 distribution offers. We were asked to make it a 70 minute feature film, which we did, by creating additional action sequences. We never expected it to go as far as it did, having national and international distribution. And we are grateful for everything this little scrappy film has been able to achieve.
